The importance of heat availability based on need is becoming increasingly significant for many parrot keepers. Much consideration is also given to the options available for heating rooms ans aviaries which do not have their own heating during winter months, so that they remain frost-free, thereby protecting the building from damage. The purchase costs of the heat source, and its operating costs, must be kept as low as possible.

Safe protection from frost
The FW 550 S frost protection convector is ideal for protecting small rooms which do not have their own heating, such as cellars, small storage rooms, garages, workrooms, conservatories and WCs. When the temperature drops below a given level, the device switches on automatically, keeping the room safe from frost in a cost-efficient way.

Protection against overheating
To protect the device from overheating, a bimetal strip is integrated into the power circuit near the heating element, which interrupts the flow of current when overheating occurs.
